The Dangers of Floating Bus Stops and ... a solution

I have put together a comprehensive project leaflet about the dangers of floating bus stops and a safer alternative. Click here to read the full document.
An Easy Read version of this project is also available. It uses simpler words and clear pictures to explain the main points. 👉 [Click here to read the Easy Read version]

  1. I have to commend you for taking the time to articulate what you might think an alternative design might look like, but I'm afraid that coloured surfacing and paint does not protect people cycling and if training worked, we wouldn't have dead people on our streets.

It's also not a new layout. Here is an example which is pretty much the same. A half lay-by with a cycle lane that narrows because the bus stop cuts into it, all painted blue. It's a sketchy place to cycle anyway, but the buses here are every few minutes:

I'll carry on designing floating bus stops when they are required.
